Neev is a social initiative which aims to empower communities across India, with knowledge and tools on how plastic can be recycled. Sustainability, and the sustainability movement, which includes the use of paper and swaps plastic out, is inherently elite, because most of the swaps recommended, are expensive, and one time use only. 

 

With Neev, we hope to change the way sustainability is approached, and truly drive home the meaning of ‘recycle’ and ‘reuse’. We want the underserved populations, who are unfortunately dependent on single use plastics, to learn ways in which they can recycle and reuse this plastic. 

 

Sustainability and net zero carbon emissions will only become a reality if we include everyone in the movement. Neev is a hindi word which literally means foundation, or root, and with this project, we hope to change the approach to sustainability from the grassroot level!
